by Kathiravan C

INTRODUCTION:

CCZ, the brand based in China is an emerging brand that is majorly concentrated towards the budget arena. Their siblings are the Emerald, Melody and Warrior which has already gained its trust from the consumers. The CCZ Coffee Bean is what we have in my hands and will discuss in detail about the product through the following sections.

CCZ COFFEE BEAN OVERVIEW:

The Coffee Bean adopts a single 10mm Dual Magnetic Dynamic Driver with a PU + PEEK composite diaphragm enclosed in a resin shell that comes in two different colors namely the black and the brown. The earpiece does come with a patented ear fin design for added ergonomics and a 2 pin detachable cable. The stock eartips also comes under the patented design and does provide adequate seal.

CCZ COFFEE BEAN SOUND ANALYSIS:

Coffee Bean has a L shape sound signature with decent technicalities. The bass here feels big with nice sub bass authority and with a proper warmth from the mid bass profile. Though the bass feels bigger, the mid-section never feels much recessed providing proper attention to the vocals and background instruments. Let’s check out in detail through the following sections.

BASS SECTION:

  • The sub bass takes control over the mid bass providing authoritative and a controlled bass presence.
  • The sub bass digs deep enough for representing satisfying rumbles.
  • The mid bass provides adequate warmth with required fullness for representing a near to bloat free bass profile.
  • Though the warmth in the bass section feels adequate, the slam lacks which makes them sound slightly mellow and softer.
  • Quality is pretty appreciable with pleasing decay and control from the bass section.

MID SECTION:

  • The mid section feels warmer and smoother with no noticeable recession.
  • The presentation is delivered neither too forward nor backward making the presentation engaging.
  • The vocals and the background instrumentals get proper attention with natural warmth towards the tone and timbre.
  • The lower mid section has adequate fullness while the upper mid section feels smoother with no peak or harshness.
  • Sibilance feels nill with an overall smoother and lush presentation.

TREBLE SECTION:

  • The extension in the treble section is limited yet extracts out essential nuances out of the tracks.
  • Their brightness might not be very precise due to its slightly darker background.
  • The cymbal crashes and the percussion instruments have a natural warmth to it making them sound natural enough with precise decay.
  • The darker background made the Coffee bean to lack the dynamism a bit.

TECHNICALITIES:

STAGING AND IMAGING: Coffee bean represents an intimate staging but has a good placement of the instruments representing a proper imaging. Layering is not the strongest aspect of the Coffee bean so the overall technical aspects feels moderate.

TONE AND TIMBRE: Coffee bean shows a natural tone and timbre with a hint of warmth added to it displaying a pleasing and lusher presentation. The background feels slightly darker hence the overall presentation feels mellow and softer.

DETAIL RETRIEVAL: Coffee bean shows a moderate detail retrieval while extracting out the essential nuances out of the tracks.

CCZ COFFEE BEAN VERDICT:

Coffee Bean, an offering from the house of CCZ comes with a 10mm single dual magnetic dynamic driver with a PU+PEEK diaphragm enclosed in a resin outer shell. The 2 pin detachable feels good with patented stock eartips. The patented ear fins in the earpiece helped in providing extra touch in attaining a perfect fit.

The sound out of the Coffee Bean appears L shaped with accentuated sub bass presence and no noticeable recession in the mid section. The background appears slightly darker giving the presentation a sense of calm and smoother sense. The treble section’s extension is limited yet brings out the essential nuances out of the tracks. Tone and timbre feels natural with the touch of warmth for representing a lush appearance. The stage feels intimate but has a precise placement of the instruments across the stage. The bass feels bigger yet lacks the slam making them appear softer and mellow.

The CCZ Coffee Bean is a practical and an UNPRETENTIOUS package that takes its own place in this budget arena. The 10mm Single Dynamic Driver delivers a nice warm and smooth signature with a soft, mellow touch.
